Locks Heath - Building Relationships

Blog update

The Blogging Team are really enjoying telling the story of the construction of Locks Heath Free Church through their photographs. This is the third build Ben and Chris have been working alongside Senior Project Manager Adrian Harvey and they have a great understanding. Forging a close working relationship with the Project Managers enables the Blogging Team to gain a greater understanding of the construction industry in general and also the specifics of each build. This is particularly important on a complex build like Locks Heath where varying construction methodologies and a multitude of different building materials are in use.

Most of the current work onsite is centred inside the building with a huge amount of internal scaffolding in place to facilitate dry lining, plastering, painting and ceiling works. The activity Hall has had its final coat of Dulux Mallow White paint and looks fantastic. In the Sanctuary the huge air ducting for the ventilation system has now been sprayed black to match the ceiling. M&E works are well underway throughout the building.

Externally the glazing is now 90% complete and the reflections on the curtain walling sections are particularly impressive. Landscaping has also commenced with the feature curved garden walling under construction and works on the overflow car park now at an advanced stage.
