It’s heating up at Brecknock!

Blog update

With the fitting of the grey coloured Marely Cedral Click-Cladding system underway the Countess of Brecknock Hospice building is looking very smart.

Much of the internal scaffolding has now been removed and for the first time the Blogging Team could really get an idea of the layout and configuration of this complex build.

The underfloor heating installation is now complete and the ready mixed screed is being laid throughout the ground floor.

The underfloor heating is also installed on the first floor, where reflective aluminium panels both hold the piping in place and also make sure the heat dissipates through to the floor above.

M&E first fix is well underway in all areas of the building and when complete the ceilings will be closed off.

As this is a new build all the complicated medical gas plumbing, hospital electrical fittings and bed hoist tracks can be fitted during construction. This allows for a more concealed and streamlined finish to the whole building.

The dividing walls between the rooms have had a 6mm sound reducing block coat to help keep patients disruption to a minimum.
