Amiri win £9m Independent School project

Amiri secure £9m sports centre rebuild for Sherborne School in Dorset. 

Amiri Construction, a regional building contractor, has been appointed by Sherborne School to build a £9 million extension to the existing school sports centre.


The project located is located at the school’s current site in Sherborne and is due to be completed in the Spring of 2023. 


The Sherborne School said “We are delighted to engage Amiri as our construction partners for our exciting project to expand and enhance the sports facilities at the school.
This development will more than double the footprint of Sherborne’s existing sports centre, including a second larger sports hall, new triple sized high performance and general fitness gyms, two new squash courts and full-length indoor cricket nets. This will improve opportunities for all boys and allow elite teams to train year-round, bringing significant performance enhancement for all. This will also allow us to expand public access to the sports facilities.”

London based Architect, Walters & Cohen Architect, Hedge End based Project Managers, Gleeds are involved with the project with Burke Hunter Adams working as the Quantity Surveyor. Fairhurst are providing the Structural Engineering design and Max Fordham Engineers are providing the Mechanical and Electrical design.
