Amiri awarded £4.6m Assisted Living accommodation construction contract in Paulsgrove for Portsmouth City Council.

Amiri Construction has been awarded a £4.6 million contract to build an Assisted Living housing scheme for Portsmouth City Council.

The project is located in Paulsgrove, where Amiri will build eight one-bedroom and five four-bedroom assisted living accommodation with communal and staff facilities. Including access, services, hard and soft landscaping.

This development is part of a programme to deliver much needed Assisted Living housing for Portsmouth City Council. Assisted-living accommodation provides older or vulnerable adults the choice to live independently in their home while having access to 24/7 support if they need.

The project is due start on Monday 16 November 2020 and complete in February 2022.

Amiri will be installing a Ground Source heating pump and Solar Panels on the roof, fully utilising renewable energy and making this a flagship sustainable building for Portsmouth City Council. The project is being designed to receive BREAAM Excellent accreditation.

Housing, Neighbourhood and Building Services, Portsmouth City Council’s in-house professional team are the principal designer on this project.

Martin Tidby, Managing Director says ‘We are delighted to be working with Portsmouth City Council on this Assisted Living accommodation development and we look forward to bringing our significant local knowledge and experience within the sector to this build.’’
