Project Overview

The design and build of a 25-metre swimming pool complex for Lambrook School.

Built to meet British Swimming specifications, the facility includes a spectator viewing gallery, changing areas, reception and café, and office accommodation. The new building enhances the school’s sports provision and provides a high-quality environment for both competitive and recreational swimming.

Centrally located within the school grounds, adjacent to the main reception and the Amiri-built performing arts centre, the project required careful coordination to maintain safety, accessibility and minimal disruption throughout the academic year.

Key Challenges & Solutions

Live School Environment: Working within an active school campus required strict management of deliveries, access, and noise control.

A detailed logistics and communication plan was implemented, with deliveries scheduled outside peak hours and continuous liaison with school staff to ensure safety and minimise disruption.

Challenging Ground Conditions: Unforeseen soil conditions required design adaptations to maintain programme and quality.

The foundation and drainage systems were re-engineered in collaboration with structural engineers to provide a robust and cost-effective solution without impacting progress.

Project Outcomes

The swimming pool complex provides Lambrook School with a modern, energy-efficient facility that enhances its sporting and extracurricular offering. The pool meets national performance standards while offering a comfortable, light-filled space for pupils, staff and visitors.

Delivered to the school’s specification, the project demonstrates Amiri’s ongoing relationship with Lambrook and our commitment to providing exceptional educational and community facilities that combine functionality, design excellence and lasting value.
