Project Overview
New Forest District Council appointed Amiri to deliver a new affordable housing development at Moore Close in New Milton.
The scheme created 16 new homes – ten houses and six flats – offering a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom properties for rent and shared ownership.
Alongside the new homes, the development introduced a children’s play area, car parking and secure bicycle storage. The team placed sustainability at the centre of the design. As a result, the project included green technologies, electric vehicle charging points and energy-efficient materials.
All homes met the Future Homes Standard, helping to reduce environmental impact and lower ongoing energy costs for residents.

Key Challenges & Solutions
Sustainability Requirements: Meeting the Future Homes Standard required careful specification of materials and systems.
Amiri worked closely with the design team to integrate energy-efficient building fabric, low-carbon heating systems, and EV infrastructure, achieving high performance while maintaining cost efficiency.
Tight Residential Site Constraints: The development was situated within a well-established residential area with limited access.
The team developed a detailed logistics plan to manage deliveries and minimise disruption to neighbouring properties, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout construction.
Community Engagement: With homes located close to existing residents, communication was key to maintaining good relations.
Regular liaison with the local community and council officers ensured transparency, addressing concerns promptly and maintaining positive engagement throughout the project.
Project Outcomes
Moore Close now provides high-quality, much-needed affordable housing for the local community. The homes are modern, comfortable and efficient to run, supporting both social and environmental priorities.
Furthermore, the development creates a sustainable and inclusive neighbourhood with well-designed outdoor areas and improved access to local amenities. Delivered on time and within budget, the project strengthens Amiri’s reputation for producing housing schemes that balance quality, sustainability and community benefit.
