Project Overview
Amiri delivered a new food distribution centre with integrated office facilities for Natures Way Foods at Merston, a development by Kingsbridge Estates on the Chichester Food Park campus.
The 97,600 sq ft cold store and distribution centre is strategically located just 18 miles from Portsmouth, providing an ideal base within the company’s southern supply chain.
This design and build project was the fifth collaboration between Amiri and Kingsbridge Estates, secured through competitive tender. The facility enables Natures Way Foods to receive freshly picked salad crops, chill, pack, and distribute produce rapidly, ensuring maximum freshness for retail customers.
The two-storey office section at the front of the building houses management and administration areas, alongside an industrial kitchen serving a 100-seat canteen. Full changing, washing, and cleaning facilities were included to maintain the highest hygiene standards in line with the operational requirements of a food processing environment.
The warehouse section includes extensive concrete yards, plant areas, and multiple dock loading bays designed to accommodate articulated lorries, supporting the efficient movement of goods and vehicles on site.
