Project Overview
The design and construction of the UK’s first Scientific Research Arboretum.
Amiri delivered this landmark development for Bartlett Tree Experts at Spencers Wood, near Reading, providing almost 800m² of specialist laboratory, research and office accommodation within a 50-acre arboretum.
The scheme comprises three distinct buildings connected by an open timber colonnade and an enclosed glazed glulam link corridor. Constructed using a Passivhaus-style SIPS timber system, steel screw pile foundations, glulam structures and timber and zinc cladding, the project combines innovative design, sustainability and long-term performance.
Extensive landscaping, access roads, pathways and walkways complete a unique research campus designed to support scientific study, collaboration and education.

Project Outcomes
Bartlett Arboretum has created a unique specialist research environment dedicated to advancing the understanding of trees and their environmental, human and structural benefits.
The development provides high-quality laboratory, research and office facilities, with exposed glulam beams, double-height spaces and carefully considered architectural finishes creating an inspiring setting for scientific research and collaboration.
Its timber-led construction and Passivhaus-style approach demonstrate how sustainable materials, innovative building techniques and outstanding design can work together. The completed campus will support research, education and sustainable development while delivering a lasting positive legacy for Bartlett Tree Experts and the wider scientific community.

Amiri delivered Connect 5 in Hook, Hampshire, for long-standing client Kingsbridge Estates, marking the tenth project completed together. The development provides over 56,000 sq ft of flexible industrial accommodation across three units, comprising one 37,800 sq ft unit and two 9,280 sq ft units, with the smaller units capable of being combined if required.

TEMPLEMAN PLACE, LEEDAM ROAD
Amiri was appointed to complete the construction of Templeman Place, a residential development in Bournemouth delivering 27 new council-owned homes for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council. The scheme comprised a four-storey apartment building providing 16 one-bedroom and 11 two-bedroom flats, together with bin and cycle storage, parking, electric vehicle charging points and a relocated substation.
