Mental Health & Wellbeing Support – Building a Better Future Together
Within Amiri, we believe that building strong structures starts with supporting strong people.
As mental health continues to be one of the most pressing issues in the UK construction sector, we are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, heard and supported both on and off site.

Why Mental Health Matters in Construction – Stats
The construction industry remains one of the hardest-hit sectors for mental health challenges. Despite accounting for just 5% of the UK workforce, it represents approximately 15% of workplace suicides.
Recent data shows that:
- 28% of construction workers have experienced suicidal thoughts in the past year.
- 83–94% report stress, anxiety, depression, or fatigue, with over 60% experiencing depression.
- Nearly 1 in 2 workers have worked in unsafe conditions due to mental distress.
- 22% have had an accident or injury linked to poor mental health.
- The industry loses over 5 million working days yearly due to mental health issues, costing £1.2 billion.
These figures show an urgent need for change and we’re taking action.
Our Commitment to Mental Wellbeing
We’re proud to be part of the solution. Amiri offers practical support services.
Mental Health First Aid
Every site is supported by trained Mental Health First Aiders. We also encourage open dialogue and early intervention through regular check-ins with managers and team leaders.
Confidential Support Services
Our staff have access to Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), counselling services, and mental health charities including Mates in Mind and The Lighthouse Charity, as well as having a dedicated email account straight to our Mental Health First Aiders.
Wellbeing Culture & Training
We deliver regular toolbox talks, workshops, and resilience training that focus on managing stress, fatigue, and the unique pressures of the construction environment.
Peer Support & Awareness
We actively participate in Mental Health Awareness campaigns and foster a supportive workplace culture where no one feels alone.
Safety Through Wellbeing
Mental health is integrated into our safety planning.
Continuous Improvement
We evaluate wellbeing initiatives using feedback, absence data, and site audits, refining our approach to ensure real impact.

Let’s Build a
Healthier Industry
Supporting mental health isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s essential to safety, productivity, and quality. When our people feel well, they work well. That’s why wellbeing is central to everything we do.
Whether you’re a tradesperson, site manager, or apprentice, you’ll find support, understanding, and respect at every level of our organisation. Mental health is everyone’s business and together, we’re breaking the silence in construction.
